Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced, dedicated and compassionate childcare provider to join our family.
We have two boys, 7 & 11yo.
Experience in childcare, education and/or special education is a non-negotiable as our oldest child has ADHD and requires skilled attention.
This position is flexible! We can come up with days/times that work best for both parties each week or two.
Some evening or weekend days/nights here and there would be great.
Over time, if trust is built, we would like the option for overnight care (on rare occasions) as well.
Dependable mode of transportation is required.
Duties:
- Provide attentive and compassionate care to children
- Have fun and build special memories!
- Plan and implement engaging activities that promote learning and development with little to no use of electronics
- Create a safe and stimulating environment for children to explore and grow
- Monitor children's behavior and intervene when necessary using positive behavior management techniques
- School pickup and possibility of "After School Field Trip" with oldest to fill the afternoon (museum visit, volunteering, etc.
)
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in areas of play
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress and daily activities
- Let the dog out if need be (if at home).
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of and experience with childcare practices, childhood development, special needs, and/or education
- Experience in caregiving or working with children in a professional setting
- Ability to educate and engage children through age-appropriate activities
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
-Timeliness and dependability
- Patience, empathy, enthusiasm, and the ability to connect with children on an individual level
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques for children of different ages
