The School of Social and Behavioral Sciences (SSBS) in the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) at the University of New England (UNE) invites applications for a tenure track assistant professor in criminology, starting in August 2024.
The successful candidate will join a collegial, engaged team of faculty and professional staff in a school offering programs in criminology, sociology, psychology, neuroscience, animal behavior, political science, global studies, and applied social and cultural studies.

Responsibilities The school seeks candidates to teach undergraduate courses in critical criminology, the criminal justice system, sociology of deviance and crime, and/or other courses related to their expertise.
The typical teaching load is the equivalent of 9 credits per semester.
The successful candidate is expected to develop an active, independent research program involving undergraduates that results in peer-reviewed dissemination of the work, and to seek external funding.
Additionally, the successful candidate will also engage in curriculum development and participate in academic advising, recruiting, course and program assessment, and service to the school, college and University.
Qualifications A Ph.
D.
in criminology or a closely related field is required at the time of appointment; or a combination of professional experience with an appropriate terminal degree that provide commensurate qualifications may be considered.
