Regional School Unit 57MHS Drama Assistant Tech Director Spring PlayDepartment: ActivitiesReports To: Massabesic High School Activities Director, in conjunction with the PrincipalQualifications: Has knowledge and background in the activityMeets RSU 57 eligibility requirements: RSU 57 Background CheckMaine Department of Education Criminal History Record CheckRequirements must be met when specifiedPosition Summary: The technical director assists the director and is typically responsible for the maintenance of the lighting and sound equipment as well as the choices and design for the shows.
The technical director will spend time adjusting the lights (setting lights) during and after each performance.
Organization of the light and sound booth as well as the needs of future programming is also a part of this position.
The technical director will work with students to create the lighting and sound design as well as the set design and building for the one act show.
The technical director also helps to build the set, supervises students in building the sets, and helps in the direction of painting the sets.
They also help to store the sets during the strike for each show.

Understanding of budgeting and accounting practicesPhysical Demands: While performing the essential duties of the position, the employee is continuously required to stand, walk, talk, and hear.
The employee will frequently use demonstration techniques while coaching that require physical activity, such as running, jumping, throwing, catching, swinging an implement, and general body movement.
The employee will need to carry items that may be heavy (in excess of 20 pounds).
The employee will occasionally need to sit for long periods of time, and frequently travel by bus.
The position may require the employee to work extended hours to meet the demands of the position.
Work Environment: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but occasionally will be excessive.
Work is performed indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
