Maine Behavioral Health is seeking a registered nurse to join their Clinical Informatics team.
Partnering with your team, you will help to coordinate/deliver in person and virtual Epic training to newly hired Clinical Team members.
Additionally, this role will support on-going learning for Epic upgrades and workflow changes.

This is a Monday-Friday, day-shift position.
Schedule flexibility to meet business needs by working off-shift hours from time-to-time is required.
Position Summary The Clinical Informatics Specialist (CIS) supports the mission and vision of Maine Behavioral Healthcare through integrating nursing science, computer science and information science as they relate to the efficient and safe delivery of patient and family centered care that is compassionate, evidence-based, and of the highest quality care, reporting through the Director of Informatics.
This role is responsible for the planning, development, implementation, and mentoring of clinical informatics training and education programs.
The CIS collaborates with the local credentialed trainers informatics-teams and the Information’s Systems (IS) training teams in creating an infrastructure of support through classroom instruction, one on one coaching, and departmental skills fairs.
The CIS works in collaboration with multidisciplinary patient care teams in performing workflow analyses and compliance audits to identify and address areas for performance improvement for efficiency, compliance and quality patient care.
The CIS collaborates with the Education Department to coordinate structured training schedules designed to meet the orientation needs of new employees and students and develops training curriculums to meet the needs of all learner types.
The CIS is responsible for participating in the planning, development, training, implementation, evaluation, and maintenance of Clinical Information Systems across the organization.
Works in collaboration with multidisciplinary patient care teams to optimize the design and functionality of the electronic health record, promotes standardized, evidenced based, efficient and safe clinical care processes, and performs workflow analyses and compliance audits to identify and address areas for performance improvement for efficiency, compliance and quality patient care.
Acts as a liaison between nursing and clinical services and IS on all automated information systems within a health care context while working collaboratively with hospital departments, Information Services, and other MH facilities to ensure the achievement of strategic goals as they relate to decisions, training and education, implementation, maintenance and upgrading of technologies and computer systems for clinical user groups.
Flexibility to work nights, evening and weekend hours or shifts to support clinicians and special projects may be required.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
License/Certifications: Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maine preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant clinical and/or training experience required.
Epic credentialed trainers preferred.
Candidates with the above experience, but without Epic credentialed trainer status will be considered.
Candidates without Epic credentialed trainer status will be required to obtain credentialed status within one (1) year of hire date to permit continued employment.
Ability to think creatively, work independently, develop conceptual designs and manage small projects.
Highly effective verbal and written communication skills to engage individuals and/or groups for building consensus and successful outcomes as a group leader and participant.
High level of organization skills, effective time management and delegation strategies that include the ability to rapidly prioritize and adjust work flow according to changing priorities.
