*Position Mission*
Acts as primary point of contact for retail or wholesales customers of paint products and ensures sales by determining customer need, accessing the POS system to assist in securing necessary parts, maintaining personal and store image, and ensuring the customer receives a good experience.
*Responsibilities*
Job holder is responsible for performing any other duties as assigned by
management.
Implements appropriate sales practices such as greeting customers, demonstrating product
knowledge, and ability to quickly understand customer’s needs.
Maintains customer satisfaction by serving all customers, securing right part, and resolving
customer issues.
Demonstrates professional attitude, conduct and appearance.
Maintains POS computer abilities by learning and applying how to use catalog and system,
practicing asset security/loss prevention controls, and understanding store’s pricing methods.
Provides sales support functions by processing salespersons’ stock orders, reporting
overages/shortages/damaged merchandise, and ensuring good appearance of store and displays.
Participates in training as needed and required.
Perform all other associated tasks as assigned by management.
*Experience*
Must have automotive painting experience – Minimum one year previous experience in
the PBE industry as a painter, or shop tech
PBE technical skills related to color match
Hands on experience with paint mixing systems and application equipment.
Participate in
the addition of paint and solvents to paint mix systems.
Will mix and tint paint products
to customers’ specifications
Monitor and maintain quality standards in paint mixing room.
Maintain clean paint mixing room and paint storage room (i.
e.
clean pots, liners, floors,
mixers, tables, solvent tanks)
Knowledge of proper safe handling of and regulatory compliance with paint process
chemicals is required.
*Education*
High school diploma or equivalent
Basic computer software skills necessary for documenting paint coating quality
ASE Certification a plus, but not necessary
ICAR Certification a plus, but not necessary
Participate in all Paint Company, ICAR, ASE, or other training programs, certifications,
schools, and events
*Abilities*
Ability to visually distinguish, coordinate, and eye color match
Perform hazardous waste removal and immediately report safety issues to management.
Capable of operating TAMS point-of-sale system and cataloging.
Able to use adding machine and process cash, check, and credit card transactions.
Visually capable of recognizing and distinguishing letters and numbers and remembering
their sequencing.
Able to speak clearly and listen attentively.
Ability to follow direction and work well in a team environment.
Able to work on feet (stand and walk) for entire assigned work shift.
Required to work flexible hours, no Sundays
Capable of lifting and moving parts and boxes of up to 60 pounds.
Able to repeatedly bend or stoop to floor-level shelves and able to reach upper shelves
(eight feet) with use of stool or ladder when necessary.
Able to move engine blocks, core barrels, and other heavy equipment with moving aids
designed to move such items, including hand trucks, barrel dollies, hydraulic lifts, etc.
*Work Environment*
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is exposed to fumes or
airborne particles.
