The Tax Accountant participates in domestic & international tax compliance & accounting activities in accordance with the appropriate accounting and legal standards.
This role will monitor and ensure tax compliance, and provide tax support to assigned lines of business, products and functions.
What You Will Be Doing:
You will assist/prepare/review quarterly/annual domestic/international tax compliance/accounting activities including deferred income tax; tax account reconciliations; tax true-up reconciliations; estimated tax payments; Transfer Price documentation, compliance and adjustments; subsidiary basis calculations; E&P calculations; and governmental audit activities.
You will review/monitor/ensure domestic/international compliance for all tax types including the following: income, VAT, sales, use, and property.
You will analyze purchases, customer sales and property types, assess taxability, program/maintain Taxware software and verify customer claims and exemptions.
You will support/prepare domestic/international tax returns and maintain organization tax records and financial statements.
You will support/prepare filings for tax refunds and research inquires from government agencies regarding filings, compliance, and other claims.
You will establish/maintain intercompany agreements, including debt, management, distribution and manufacturing agreements.
You will research methods and present proposals to lessen tax liability through the use of laws and regulations.
You will analyze tax records and reports and assist in preparation.
You will participate/coordinate/lead various international and domestic tax planning initiatives.
You will assist/design/implement business processes and controls to maintain tax compliance in all IDEXX jurisdictions.
You will assist/perform as an internal subject matter expert to various technical issues such as Subpart F, Foreign tax credits, Foreign dividends, income apportionment, permanent establishment, nexus, business tax incentives, etc.
You will provide tax support and research to assigned lines of business, products and functions.
You will maintain knowledge of all applicable tax laws and regulations.
You will assist with Federal/State/International audits.
You will coordinate tax deadlines through workflow tool.
What You Need To Succeed:
Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Strong computer skills, experience with Excel
Analytical ability
Self-starter
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work independently
Ability to communicate complex tax issues to non-tax professionals
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
