) *What does the SVP of Finance do?* Coordinate with the CEO to develop and implement financial strategies, policies and procedures that support the organization’s mission, values and strategic goals.
Manage and oversee all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, investments, asset management and financial analysis.
Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records, including the general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and other financial systems.
Manage relationships with external partners, including banks, auditors, and other financial service providers to ensure compliance with all reporting and regulatory requirements.
Develop and oversee the annual budgeting process, working closely with the senior leadership team and other stakeholders to develop realistic and achievable budgets.
Develop and utilize financial forecasting models and activity-based financial analysis that provide insight into the organization’s operations and support long-term financial planning and decision-making.
Ensure the organization is compliant with all relevant laws and regulations including tax filings, year-end audit, and 990 etc.
Develop and maintain appropriate internal controls and financial procedures.
Oversee IT infrastructure to ensure the availability, integrity, and security of all technology (hardware and software), including cyber-security protection, needed to support council functions.

Oversees accounting and technical information in the Abila, DoubleKnot, Personify, Camp Minder and Volunteer Systems databases.
Provide leadership and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
*What are we looking for in a team member?* * Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field; MBA or CPA strongly preferred.
* 6 years of experience in non-profit financial management and reporting or auditing or equivalent experience in the for-profit sector with exposure to non-profit accounting principles and practices.
* Experience in a senior financial management role, partnering with executive staff, resulting in the development and implementation of prudent financial management strategies.
* Significant experience with applications of non-profit accounting, including sophisticated fund/grant accounting and/or job costing, cost allocation methodologies, legal and regulatory compliance, and reporting requirements.
* Experience developing and implementing financial strategies, forecasting, managing budgets, and overseeing financial reporting and compliance.
* Extensive working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint), Salesforce, and accounting software such as Abila.
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
* Commitment to maintaining a high standard of knowledge on accounting theory & accepted practices, independent audit standards requirements, and generally accepted accounting principles.
* Strong leadership and management skills, with experience building and leading high-performing teams.
